Today TNT met for an 8 mile run. It was so hard at first because the majority of the trail was all uphill. Another lady, Patty, and I ran together and it was pretty tough. I have to admit the views of Monterey Bay from the top of the hill were incredible though! Eventually we made it downhill and finished our run. It took us a bit longer than we expected simply because of the run. Afterwards, I can appreciate the trail because trails like this will definitely get me ready for the run. On a fundraising note, my parents and brother took a turnaround trip to Laughling today. My Mom organized it to raise money for me. She's the best! I'm so grateful for all her help and for those who have been nice enough to reach into their pockets and help a great cause! Maybe more will feel the urge sometime! If not, it's all good. I'm just about about the goal. How exciting! I also received the hotel information this week. It's such a beautiful hotel. I'm thinking of booking a massage afterwards and than getting plenty of rest. Or who knows... maybe I'll be celebrating all night! ;-) Thanks everyone!

Today was our first seven mile run. It actually wasn't too bad. We ran in Carmel and I was lucky enough to have the beautiful ocean as my view. Lucky duck I know! I ran just under two hours which is pretty darn good for someone who has never run a mile before in her life. ;-) When I was running with Colleen, my mentor, a lady asked us about our shirts. Colleen told her about the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and the lady was so happy for us. She wished us luck which gave me even more energy to finish my last mile. Today we ran for Josh who is a 13 year old who has been in remission now for two years. He was diagnosed five years ago and he has been blessed to be where he is today. Thank God for Josh! I really hope more of you donate. It's a shame sometimes to know not everyone is very gunho in a sense about donating. I guess people don't really think about Leukemia or other blood cancers until they are affected personally. I am glad I decided to run and look forward to meeting more amazing individuals. I am trully blessed. Thank you God!!

Week of March 3rd

Hi everyone!

I have now been training for a little under a month. Hooray! I seem to be surviving! Saturday I ran six miles in the rain. I have to admit it was too much fun. I was soaked and barely breathing, but it was so worth it. Afterwards we had a team lunch and I had the opportunity to meet some of our honorees. What stuck in my mind was when one of them said, "Remember you are doing this because others can't!" Now isn't that amazing? It made me want to cry. Now I hope my friends and family will get into the spirit and help me reach my fundraising goal. It's for an amazing cause!!
